Preheat oven to 200C/180C Fan/ Gas Mark 5.
Cook rice in boiling water for about 35 minutes. Drain and rinse thoroughly and drain again. This stops the cooking process.
Cut up broccoli and cook in salted water for 5 minutes, drain and rinse in cold water.
Gently fry chopped onions and garlic in butter till translucent.
Stir together all ingredients and add cheesy sauce.
Transfer to ovenproof dish and sprinkle with cheese.
Bake in oven till the cheese has melted this is normally around 20 minutes.
