Toad in The Hole
Can be served with baked beans or steamed vegetables.
- 8 Sausages
- 100 grams Plain Flour
- 1 Egg
- 1 pinch of Salt
- 1/2 pint Milk
- 1 Onion
- 20 grams Gravy Granules
- 280 ml Boiling Water
Cook sausages in the oven in a baking tray for 10 minutes at 220⁰c.
Make up the pouring batter by adding plain flour, egg, salt and milk and stirring with a wooden spoon until the flour is worked. Then whisking it together to a single cream consistency.
Pour the batter over the sausages and cook for a further 30 mins.
Serve with an onion gravy made by frying a chopped onion until translucent adding gravy granules and boiling water and allow to thicken.
